About
My name is Alla Shashkina. I am a certified Running Coach, Breath Science Practitioner, and Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator. I am based in San Diego, California. I have two masters degrees - the first in Computational Linguistics and Computer Science and another in Linguistics. I was born and raised in Cheboksary, Russia.
At the core of The Quiet Run™ Method is breathwork. Breathwork is an ancient healing modality that involves voluntary breathing, re-invented to fit the needs of today's human, the homo anxius. Your breath is the bridge between your mind and body, the interface of your nervous system.
Since breath is the interface of your nervous system, a spoken language is the interface of your consciousness. As a child, I was raised bi-lingual and spoke Russian as well as the native language of our republic, Chuvash. I always loved languages and speak more than 5 today. My life journey, interweaved with a love of the art and science of natural languages, led me to become fluent in that native language of my own. Namely, the most primal and foundational language of my mind and body, the language of breath.
I want to bring The Quiet Run™ into the journey of every runner. Your running will transform, once you learn and integrate your very own language of breath.
